What are your car rental requirements?

Renters must be aged 18 to 72 years old and possess a Singapore Class 3 driver’s license. Probational drivers are also welcome.

Can individuals with an International Driving Licence or foreign driving licence rent a car from you?

Accepted Answer

We do not rent to tourists. We only rent to work pass holders or student pass holders in Singapore with an international driving license or foreign driving license with an International Driving Permit (IDP). Employment and student pass holders must provide valid proof of their residential address in Singapore, such as phone bills, utility bills, or tenancy contracts.

Is there any deposit required?

No, there is no deposit required for any of our Singapore car rentals.

Question 4

What happens if I cancel or reschedule my car rental? Are there any additional charges?

Accepted Answer

There are no additional charges for rescheduling a booking 14 days before the actual date of reservation. However, there will be no refund if Dream Car Leasing needs to replace the hirer’s car due to unforeseen circumstances such as accidents, breakdowns, or technical issues.

What is your collection time and returning time?

Our collection time is at 6 pm, and the return time is at 5 pm.

What happens if I do not return the car on time?

Accepted Answer

We offer a grace period of 15 minutes for late returns. After that, a charge of $10 per subsequent 30 minutes will be applied.

Question 7

What should I do if my vehicle breaks down?

Accepted Answer

Report to the service provider immediately. A replacement vehicle will be provided (subject to availability); otherwise, a prorated discount voucher will be issued. No additional charges will be applied. Note that issues such as punctured tyres, empty petrol tank, flattened battery, loss of keys, or keys locked inside the vehicle do not constitute breakdowns and will incur a $50 fee. Charges may vary depending on the day and time.

Do I need to refill the petrol tank?

Yes, the hirer should refill the petrol tank to the same level as when the vehicle was collected. If not, the cost of petrol plus a service charge of $10 will be levied.

Are the cars covered with insurance?

Accepted Answer

All our rental cars are covered with comprehensive insurance.

Question 10

What are the payment modes?

Accepted Answer

We accept cash, NETS, PayNow, and PayLah.

Question 11

Can I drive the car to Malaysia?

Accepted Answer

Yes, all our Singapore rental cars can be driven to Malaysia with an additional surcharge. The furthest allowed destination is up to Kuala Lumpur city area; places like Genting and anywhere further are prohibited. Please consult our staff if you are unsure.

Question 12

Can someone other than myself drive the vehicle?

Accepted Answer

Only the hirer is permitted to drive the rented vehicle. Other drivers are subject to additional driver’s insurance. The driver’s license and passport or identity card must be presented at the time of rental, and the driver must meet Dream Car’s motor insurance criteria.

Question 13

What happens if my vehicle is involved in an accident?

Accepted Answer

The hirer should report all accidents in detail to Dream Car Leasing Pte Ltd immediately. In cases involving injuries or government properties, the hirer must report to the Singapore Police Force within 24 hours. The original accident police report must be brought to our office, and follow-up of the accident report is to be done in our office before we will submit further.
